I'm proud to be a Wildcat because: the education and the softball program have made me a more well-rounded and confident person. 

What do you enjoy most about being a student-athlete at St. Catherine?: The community among the athletics teams. I also love the opportunity to pursue a great education while playing the sport I love. 

2017: As a junior, Flugstad had the best season of her career with St. Kate's softball in 2017, as she earned All-MIAC, First Team All-Region and Second Team All-America honors for her performances on the mound. Flugstad posted a 20-4 record during the regular season, breaking her own school record for single season wins, with a 1.08 ERA, the lowest in program history. The junior ace was even better against MIAC opponents, with a record of 11-1 and had the second lowest ERA versus conference opponents of .860. Flugstad finished the regular in a tie for sixth in the nation in wins (20) and was No. 26 in ERA (1.08). She also was impressive at the plate for the Wildcats, finishing the regular season with a .283 batting average and led both the team and the MIAC in hit by pitches (9). Flugstad was just as good during the postseason, as she led St. Kate's to its first ever MIAC Playoff Title and appearance in the NCAA Softball Championship Series. Flugstad was named MVP of the MIAC Postseason Tournament and the Decorah Regional and was the Most Outstanding Pitcher of the St. Paul Super Regional. Flugstad closed the season with a 29-7 record and a 1.52 ERA. 

2016: As a sophomore, Flugstad earned All-MIAC honors for the second time in her career after another historic season on the mound for the Wildcats. Flugstad appeared in 39 games as a pitcher and designated hitter for St. Kate's, with 29 of those appearances coming on the mound. In 21 starts, Flugstad pitched 14 complete games, compiled an 18-5 record, breaking her own record for wins in a single season, and finished the season with a 1.69 ERA, which was second in the MIAC. Flugstad also tied and broke her own school record for shutouts in a single season in 2016 and now holds the record for career shutouts with eight. She was MIAC Pitcher-of-the-Week twice in 2016 and is No. 3 all-time at St. Kate's with 304 career strikeouts. At the plate, Flugstad hit .294 with 35 hits in 119 at bats. In the postseason, Flugstad was named to the MIAC All-Tournament and NCAA All-Regional teams and earned All-NFCA Second Team honors.

2015: In her first season as a Wildcat, Flugstad earned All-MIAC honors and was named the MIAC Rookie-of-the-Year after leading the Wildcats to a school record season on the mound. Flugstad appeared in 27 games as a pitcher earning 14 wins which was second in the MIAC and in a single season at St. Kate's. Her 1.50 earned run average led the MIAC and her school-record 146 strikeouts were second in the MIAC. She also pitched four shutouts and a perfect game against North Central on March 20. Flugstad earned MIAC Athlete-of-the-Week on April 27. Additionally, Flugstad hit .382 and recorded 34 hits, 14 RBI, eight runs and a .472 slugging percentage. 

High School: At Jefferson, Flugstad helped the softball team to four-consecutive state championship appearances and consolation championships. As a senior captain, she was named to the all-tournament team, earned all-state honors and was selected for the Star Tribune all-metro second team. She was also all-conference and all-section as a junior and senior. Outside of athletics, she was a member of the National Honors Society, the math team, and the ping pong team. 

Personal: Flugstad chose to attend St. Kate's because of the welcoming environment, strong academic programs, distance from home, and the softball coaching staff. She is a biology major and is pursuing a minor in chemistry. She is the daughter of Mark and Kate Flugstad.
