Why I chose St. Kate's: Softball and the DPT program.
2019: Montero appeared in all 40 games her junior year, batting .317 in 139 plate appearances. She recorded 29 RBIs, 14 doubles, and 18 stolen bases. In the field, Montero recorded 48 put-outs and had a .961 fielding percentage.Ā
2018:Ā In her 2018 campaign, Montero had 127 at bat opportunities
with a batting average of .244. In 29 game appearances, of her 56 catches 54 of them were put-outs with one error earning herself a 0.982 fielding percentage.Ā
2017: As a first year, Montero was key to St. Kate's success, as she made 52 starts for the Wildcats, all in center field. She was statistically one of the best outfielders in the MIAC in 2017, both offensively and defensively, and earned All-MIAC honors for the first time in her career. At the plate, Montero batted .343. She led the team in doubles with 12, and led all first-years in the MIACĀ with 6 home runs and 12 doubles. Defensively, Montero had a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage during the regular season and MIAC playoffs and committed just one error in center field during St. Kate's postseason run. Montero was named MVP of the DecorahĀ Regional and was named to both the MIAC and Regional All-Tournament teams.Ā
