Biography

2010-2011: Mel returns for her final season, as a three-year letter winner for the Wildcats.

2009-2010: As a junior Gerten finished the season with 586 saves, a 18-5-2 record and named Scholar Player of the Year.

2008-2009: As a sophomore, Gerten recorded an outstanding 595 saves.

2007-2008: As a first year she was named to both the MIAC All-Rookie team and MIAC Honorable Mention team. She was also named team MVP, and set the school record for most saves in a season with 889, including 71 saves in one game.

High School: Mel had an outstanding high school career. She was the Hoby Baker Award Winner her senior year at Simley. She was also named to the Star Tribune All-Metro Second Team, was a two-time participant in the state tournament.

Personal: Gerten is an Accounting and Financial Economics double major at St. Kate’s. She is the fourth of five children born to Terry and Paulette.
