Brenna Nelson TFRRS Profile

2021:
Nelson appeared in five races as a sophomore setting a 5K PR in her debut race at Crown College with a time of 25:07.0. She set a 6K PR at the NCAA Division III North Regional with a time of 26:12.3.

2020-21: The Wildcat cross country team did not report times in the 2020-21 season. 

High School: A 4x MSHSL Cross Country participant and 2x All-Conference selection, Nelson was the cross country team captain in her junior and senior seasons. As a member of the track & field team, she earned the Most Improved award in 2018 and was the team captain her senior season. She also earned Academic All-State honors twice during the track & field seasons and was on the A Honor Roll 7th-12th Grade. She served as the wrestling statistician, was on the Concert Band, Jazz Band, and Marching Band,  and involved FFA, Key Club, Spanish Club, Girls Weight Lifting Club, and Teen Leadership Program.  Nelson was on National Honor Society, was the Senior Class Vice President, a Triple 'A' Award Winner, and completed over 600 volunteer hours throughout high school.  She held the positions of the FFA Reporter,  FFA President, FFA Vice President, and Trap Shooting Treasurer.  As a member of the Trap Shooting team, Nelson was a 2x All- Conference Trap Shooting honoree. She also earned the Minnesota State High School League ExCEL Award Winner.

Personal: Nelson is from Zumbro Falls, Minnesota and plans to study exercise and sport science at St. Kate's in pursuit of a degree in Physical Therapy. She also competes on the St. Kate's track & field team. Cross Country WSAAC Representative, NEXSS Club Treasurer (21-22) Co-President (22-23), Food Shelf Volunteer, and member of Katie Buddies.

Why did you choose St. Catherine?: of the 3+3 program for physical therapy, the atmosphere of the campus and because of the supportive teams that I get to be apart of!

What do you enjoy most about being a student-athlete at St. Kate's?: I enjoy the supportive team-atmosphere across the athletic teams here at St. Kate's. I also enjoy the amount of support and love that is provided from my teammates and coaches. Being a student-athlete at St. Kate's has allowed me to continue to put my schoolwork first and get the opportunity to compete at the collegiate level with some of my best friends.
