Biography

After setting six school records and becoming the first runner in school history to qualify for the NCAA Division III National Track & Field Championships her junior season, Sieve was named the St. Kate's Athlete of the Year in 2008-09. In addition to finishing 12th at the national meet in the steeplechase that season, Sieve also posted an NCAA Provisonal qualifying time in the 10k...Greta is a three-time letter winner in both cross country and track at St.Kate's and has been named to the MIAC All-Academic team each season...As a junior (2008-09) Sieve set the St. Kate's all-time record for the 6k in cross country. She then went onto the track and set records in the 1500 meter run, the 5k, the 10k, the steeplechase, and anchored the distance medley relay team to a new school record. She picked up two MIAC All-Conference awards and two honorable mention awards during the track season and was named team MVP in both cross country and track...As a sophomore (2007-08) Sieve was team MVP in cross country and earned MIAC honorable mention honors in track. She also set the St. Kate's school record in the steeplechase and anchorded the DMR to a new school record...As a freshman Sieve lettered in both cross country and track and earned honorable mention honors during the indoor track season as a member of the St. Kate's 4 x 400 meter relay team...At Cathedral High School in New Ulm Sieve was all-conference in the 400, the 1600 and the 3200....Greta is the daughter of Jeffrey and Susan Sieve...She is majoring in Occupational Therapy at St. Kate's.
