Biography
2010-11: Engel will serve as a team captain for the Wildcats track & field team this season.
2009-10:
Outdoor: Engel was a member of the 4x400 meter relay team that provisionally qualified for the NCAA National Meet with a school record setting time of 3:54.67. Engel also set school records in the 200 meter dash (26.36), the 400 meter dash (57.79), the 4x100 meter relay (49.72) and the 4x800 meter relay (9:31.68). She earned MIAC All-Conference Honorable Mention honors in the 400, the 4x100, the 4x400, and the 4x800. Engel also earned Academic All-American honors.
Indoor: Engel helped set school records on the 4x200 (1:48.34) and 4x400 (4:02.68) meter relay teams at the MIAC Indoor Championships, earning MIAC All-Conference Honorable Mention honors in both events. The 4x400 meter relay team was runner-up at the MIAC meet, the 4 x 200 meter relay team placed third overall. Engel was also an individual point scorer in the 400 meter dash.
2008-2009:
Outdoor: Engel earned MIAC All-Conference Honorable Mention honors after placing fifth in the 400 meter dash with a new personal best time of 59.46. That time moved her to #4 on the all-time list at St. Kate's. Engel also earned honorable mention honors, and helped set a new school record (3:57.95), on the 4x400 meter relay team that finished third at the MIAC meet.
Indoor: Engel set a new school record (59.86), and placed fifth, in the 400 meter dash at the MIAC Indoor Championships. She was also on the 4x400 and 4x200 meter relay teams that set a school records at that meet. The 4x400 team (4:03.45) finished runner-up at the MIAC Championships, while the 4x200 meter relay team finished third. Engel earned MIAC Honorable Mention honors in both relay events as well as in the 400 meter dash.
2007-2008:
Outdoor: Engel was a part of the 4x100 (50.66) and 4x400 (4:02.50) meter relay teams that set school records at the MIAC Championships, earning MIAC All-Conference Honorable Mention honors in both events. She also made it onto the St. Kate's all-time top-ten performance lists in the 200 (#7, 27.04) and 400 (#4, 60.15) meter dashes.
Indoor: She placed fifth at the MIAC Championships in the 400 meter dash. Her time of 60.39 moved Engel to #2 on the St. Kate's all-time performance list, and earned her the first MIAC All-Conference Honorable Mention award of her career. Later in the meet Engel was part of the 4x400 and 4 x 200 meter relay teams that set new St. Kate's school records. The 4x400 team finished runner up (4:03.14), the 4x200 team placed third, giving Engel honorable mention honors in those events as well.
High School: Kim earned four letters in track and three in soccer at Lakeville North High School. At LNHS she was named Most Valuable Defensive soccer player in 2005 and 2006. She also earned All-State honors on the track in 2005, 2006 and 2007 as a member of the LNHS school record setting 4 X 400 meter relay team.
Personal: Kim and her twin sister Kayla are both on the St. Kate's soccer and track & field teams. Kim is the daughter of David and Stacia. She is a Nursing major.
