I'm proud to be a Wildcat because: every year we continue to grow as a school and as a soccer program, becoming more recognized and respected for the "big things" we have in the making. It seems as though we never go backwards, and we may have our temporary hurdles to get through, but no matter what, our team comes out better and stronger. Being a wildcat has made me into the young woman I have always strived to be and will benefit me throughout the rest of my life and career as a nurse.
What do you enjoy most about being a student-athlete at St. Catherine University?:Â
I enjoy the rich atmosphere that has been created throughout the years of this growing athletics program. Every single team supports each other, whether it be during the same season or not, time is always made for every team. Being a student-athlete has taught me time management skills, how to push through the toughest challenges, and how to be a supportive and compassionate person on and off the field.
I chose to attend St Kate's because: a proper balance between academics and athletics was heavily important in this schools culture. Also, being introduced to the soccer team and witnessing the incredible chemistry and love they had for the game was something I knew I would not find anywhere else. Passion, drive, and respect are qualities that define this program and school, both on and off the field.
2017: This will be Bird's second season with the Wildcats.Â
2016:Â In her first season at St. Kate's, Bird played in all 19 games for the Wildcats, starting in eight. She was third on the team in points (15) and goals (6) and ranked in the top-5 in assists (3). Bird scored the first goal of her collegiate career in St. Kate's 5-1 win over Minnesota-Morris.Â
Academic Honors/ Involvement:
Dean's List: Fall 16, Spring 17, Fall 17, Spring 18.Â
High School: At  Maple Grove, Bird earned All-Conference Honorable Mention honors. Off the field, she was an A-Honor Roll student throughout her four-years.Â
Personal: Bird chose to attend St. Kate's because she wanted to be a part of the soccer team and knew St. Kate's had one of the top nursing programs. She is the daughter of Jodie and Terry Bird.
