I'm proud to be a Wildcat because: Wildcats before me have helped me succeed and I want to do the same for the future Wildcats.

What do you enjoy most about being a student-athlete at St. Catherine?: The St. Catherine athletics department is a community that is constantly striving to give oppportunities, support and friendship to female athletes. I also enjoy our team philosophy "Dream. Work. Achieve."

2015: In her final season as a Wildcat, Leyva played and started in all 19 games. She earned her second All-MIAC Honorable Mention honor after finishing second on the team in goals (7) and points (21) and leading the team in assists (21). Her five assists in MIAC games were the most int he regular season. Leyva also ranked in the top 10 in five scoring categories this season and earned MIAC Athlete-of-the-Week Oct. 13 after a five-point week. She finishes her career ranked No. 5 all-time at St. Kate's for points (44), No. 3 for assists (14), and No. 8 for goals (15). Leyva is part of a senior class that recorded the most wins in a four-year time span in program history finishing 35-34-2. She also earned Academic All-MIAC honors.

2014: As a junior, Leyva played in 17 games and started 14. She recorded one assist. Leyva was also named Academic All-MIAC.

2013: Leyva played in 18 games and was third on the team in goals (3) and points (9) as a sophomore. She scored both of the Wildcats' overtime game-winners making her the team leader in game-winning goals and 13th in the MIAC.

2012: As a first-year, Leyva played in 17 games. Shewas the second-leading scoreer for the Wildcats with 13 points, which ranked in the top-25 in the MIAC. She scored three-game winning goals - inlcuding the lone goal in the program's first win ever over Carleton - and earned All-MIAC Honorable Mention honors. Leyva also was named the Wildcat Rookie of the Year.

High School: At San Jacinto High School, Leyva was a four year letter winner in soccer, volleyball and track and field. She earned First Team All-League two years and also All-CIF second team. She was named team MVP and was also team captain for three years. Leyva was also named Club Hemet Juventus MVP twice. She was on the Honor Roll all four years and also involved in many clubs.

Personal: Leyva chose St. Kate's because of the soccer, classes, and location. She serves as the social justic student coordinator with campus ministry. She is a pre-occupational therapy major and has been accepted into the master of occupational therapy program. She is also a dean's list student. Leyva is the daughter of Jose and Maria Leyva.
