ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The St. Catherine University basketball team completed the conference sweep of the Augsburg University Auggies on Senior Day honoring
Kristen Oberle, 73-60 inside
Butler Center.
The Wildcats set the tone early taking a 20-16 lead after the first before carrying a 34-28 advantage into halftime. St. Kate's created separation in the third outscoring the Auggies 21-13 to push the lead to 55-41. St. Kate's kept the momentum going with clutch baskets at the charity line to seal the 13-point win.
St. Kate's scored 44 points in the paint and 20 on the fast break while forcing 23 Augsburg turnovers that resulted in 24 points and 13 steals.
Jordyn Peed led with 18 points followed by
Lily Peper delivering 17 in the win.
Hattie Fox added ten with four assists while
Kate Flicek matched with ten points off the bench.
Kristen Oberle recorded four steals in the game while the Wildcats were 17 for 20 from the line.
St. Kate's will host Concordia College on Wednesday evening as they look to climb the standings with four regular season games remaining. St. Kate's is currently 6-8 in MIAC play with a overall record of 11-10.
