Fugitts hat trick leads Wildcats to shutout of Pointers

STEVENS POINT, WIS. -- The St. Catherine Unviesity soccer team opened the 2025 season with a 3-0 non-conference win over the University of Wisoncsi Stevens Point. All three goals were scored by senior Ashley Fugitt to start off the season. 

All three of Fugitts goals were scored in the first hal of the game in Stevens Point. The Wildcats' first goal was score in the 28th minute off a pass from sophomore forward Emily Olson. Just ten minutes later, Fugitts scored the team's second goal unassisted to put the team up 2-0. 

The third and final goal of the game was scored in he 38th minute again by Fugitt with help from fifth-year Maren Schoeberl. 

Fugitt paced the team with four shots, with three on goal, all of which went in. Sophomore Brianna Valedz made one save in 80 minutes  while rookie Emma Sefeldt made one save in. 

St. Kate's opens the home season on Saturday, August 30 hosting St. Norbert College at 5 pm.
