EAU CLAIRE, Wis. -- The St. Catherine University softball team dropped a pair of non-conference games against the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire on Saturday afternoon on the road. The pair of loses to the Blugolds put St. Kate's at 7-11 overall.

St. Catherine struggled to generate offense against Wis.-Eau Claire, managing just one run in the third inning on a ground out RBI by
Grace Swigart. Despite some early scoring opportunities, St. Kate's couldn't capitalize, leaving multiple runners stranded. Eau Claire steadily built its lead, aided by defensive miscues and timely hitting, sealing an 8-1 victory.
GAME TWO | Wis. Eau Claire 5, St. Catherine 1
Wis.-Eau Claire took an early lead over St. Catherine and never looked back, securing a 5-1 victory. St. Catherine struck first with an unearned run in the first inning, but Eau Claire responded with two in the bottom half to take the lead. They added insurance runs in the second and fourth innings, highlighted by a RBI triple from the Blugolds. Strong pitching and solid defense held St. Catherine scoreless after the first inning, sealing the win.
St. Catherine is scheduled to travel to Duluth for a conference doubleheader against the College of St. Scholastica on Wednesday, April 2.
