MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. -- The St. Catherine University tennis team extended their win streak defeating the visiting Martin Luther College Knights on Friday evening at Baseline Tennis Center. The 7-0 non-conference match puts the Wildcats at 3-0 before opening MIAC play Saturday.
St. Kate's claimed their first point in doubles as the No. 1 team of
Kelsey Dorr and
Caitlyn Stadter edged out their opponent 6-1.
Faith Simon and
Monica Zink won their match at No. 2 by a score of 6-0, while
Ashley King and
Erica Wing took No. 3 doubles 6-3.
Dorr went 6-3, 6-0 at No. 1 singles and Simon won 6-2, 6-2 at No. 2. Stadter blanked her opponent winning 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3 and Zink defeated the Knights No. 4 singles player 6-1, 6-1. At No. 5 singles was
Liliana Holmberg winning 6-2, 6-1 and
Marie Pelletier claimed the victory at No. 6 by a score of 6-2, 6-3.
The Wildcats open conference play against the Concordia College Cobbers on Saturday at Baseline Tennis Center on the campus of the University of Minnesota at 5:30 pm.
