MOORHEAD, Minn. -- The St. Catherine University basketball team was defeated in Moorhead Wednesday evening by the Concordia College Cobbers 77-46. St. Kate's is now 6-6 after the loss with a conference record of 1-4.
Hattie Fox delivered eleven points with four rebounds against the Cobbers ahead of
Lily Peper with ten points and seven rebounds shooting 100 percent from the three point line.
Rachel Randleman was 2 for 2 from the charity line with seven points scored adding to her two boards and two assists.
St. Kate's struggled to capitalize on their chances, finally breaking through with a layup by Randleman at 6:45. While they found moments of rhythm, highlighted by
Hattie Fox's trey and a jumper by
Greta Schimnowski, Concordia maintained control through steady scoring and defensive rebounds, closing the quarter ahead 24-12. The second quarter included strong defensive pressure from the Cobbers despite Fox and Peper each contributing offensively. However, the sophomore duo were the only two to score falling behind by 29 going into halftime.
Concordia recorded their largest lead of the game with two minutes remaining in the third quarter and again with over half to play in the fourth. St. Kate's was able to whittle down the deficit with a final basket sealed by
Raya Cassidy falling 77-46.
St. Kate's returns to Butler Center on Saturday hosting the College of Saint Benedict at 3 pm.
