ROCHESTER, Minn. -- The St. Catherine University tennis team was defeated by Carleton College on Saturday evening in Rochester, Minnesota. The Knights downed the Wildcats 9-0 as the top ranked MIAC team handing St. Kate's their second conference loss of the season.
In doubles play, the Wildcats No. 1 team of
Kelsey Dorr and
Sofia Walker were defeated 8-3.
Monica Zink and
Faith Simon appeared at No. 2 doubles losing by the same score of 8-3.
Erica Wing and
Anna Luksik were the No. 3 doubles team falling 8-0.
Dorr was defeated 6-3, 6-0 at No. 1 singles while Walker lost at No. 2 6-0, 6-2. Simon lost 6-0, 6-1 at No. 3 and Luksik was defeated at No. 4 6-1, 6-0.
Erin Loterbauer tallied the team's closest match at No. 5 falling 6-3, 6-4 while Zink lost at No. 6 6-3, 6-2.
The Wildcats return to conference play next Saturday traveling to St. Joseph against College of Saint Benedict at 1 pm.
