OWATONNA, Minn. -- The St. Catherine University tennis team ended their season with a 7-2 loss to St. Olaf College on Saturday morning in Owatonna. St. Kate's closes out the season with a 5-10 record while 3-7 in conference play. The Wildcats missed the MIAC playoffs with the top six teams going and St. Kate's coming in eighth place.
In singles play,
Erin Loterbauer picked the team solo win playing at No. 6 claiming the match 6-3, 6-3. St. Kate's other point was earned at No. 2 doubles as
Erica Wing and
Monica Zink defeated their opponents 8-6.
Regionally ranked
Kelsey Dorr and
Sofia Walker lost at No. 1 doubles 8-3 and
Elsa Joly and
Anna Luksik fell at No. 3 doubles, 8-4.
Dorr battled at No. 1 singles falling to the No. 21 regionally ranked player 6-2, 2-6, 6-10. Walker lost her match at No. 2 7-5, 6-3 and Joly was downed 7-6, 6-1 at No. 3 singles. Luksik was challenged at No. 4 singles falling 6-0, 6-0 and Zink was defeated at No. 5 singles, 6-3, 6-2.
Dorr wraps up the season with a 12-3 singles and doubles record while Walker was 12-3 in doubles and 8-7 at No. 2 singles. Joly finished 5-9 at No. 3 singles with a doubles record of 6-8. Luksik concludes her rookie season with a singles record of 9-6 and doubles record of 6-8. Zink carried at 5-10 singles record with a 5-8 doubles record and
Erin Loterbauer finished singles 2-0 and doubles 1-3.
Lily Vang was 5-9 overall in singles play and Wing was 8-7 in doubles.
