Hockey suffers 6-1 loss to Bethel

ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The St. Catherine University hockey team suffered a tough loss to the Bethel University Royals giving up an important game by a defeating score of 6-1. 

St. Kate's gave up a power play goal at 11:19 in the first period and again with three minutes left in the second period. The Royals went on to add one more building a 3-0 cushion headed into the final 20 minutes of play. 

They opened the third period adding their fourth goal with 18 minutes left in the game. Senior Marie Reimer found the back of the net tipping in the Wildcats lone goal from a Kaitlyn Blair slapshot off a pass from Maiah Robert. Reimer remains on top of the MIAC leaderboard with 13 goals this season tied with Molly Terebayza of St. Olaf. 

Bethel went on to add two more in the period to close out the game. 

The Wildcats travel to Blaine on Saturday for a 6 pm game to close out the series with the Royals.
