Wildcats shutout Gusties 4-0, Green adds all four goals

ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The St. Catherine University soccer team tallied their tenth shutout of the season with a 4-0 victory over conference foe, Gustavus Adolphus Golden Gusties on Wednesday afternoon at St. Kate's Field. The decisive win is their fifth conference shutout to improve to 11-3 with a 6-1 MIAC record. The win is also head coach Jesse Campos' 75th victory in his seven seasons at the helm.

Senior forward, Ari Green was responsible for all four goals in the win. Her first goal came from a good penalty kick opportunity after a rough collision with the Gusties goalkeeper inside the penalty area at 9:56 in the first half.

Green tallied her second and tenth of the season less than three minutes later assisted by junior Maren Schoeberl in the 12th minute. Green recorded her first career hat trick in the 23rd minute scoring an unassisted goal and added a career-high fourth goal at 57:13. The four goal performance is the most from a Wildcat since now assistant coach, Lauren Witte scored four against Minnesota Morris on September 7, 2018. Green now leads all players in the MIAC with 12 goals so far this season.

The 4-0 win also moved senior goalkeeper back into the top spot in all NCAA divisions with ten shutouts at this point making four saves in the game.

The Wildcats are back at St. Kate's Field on Saturday hosting Macalester College at 1 pm for Mental Health Awareness Day.
