ST. PAUL, Minn. The Wildcats got back in the win column Saturday, with an 82-53 victory over St. Scholastica. St. Kate's won the rebound battle 58-36, and was very productive off the offensive glass, with 22 second-chance points.
Bree Glynn had a huge game: 20 points, a career-high 17 rebounds and a pair of steals. Three other Wildcats reached double figures in scoring: Zezza with 12, Golembiewski with 11, and Schimnowski with 10. The win brings the St. Kate's record to 8-5 in the MIAC, 9-6 overall.
Karis Zezza opened the game's scoring with a three pointer. She also scored the last points of the first quarter with a pair of free throws that put the Wildcats up 16-4.
Bree Glynn's deft low post move at the start of the second quarter extended the lead further. Both teams got going a bit, with the Saints getting 9 points from the free throw line in the quarter, and the Wildcats hitting on three threes (two by Schimnowski and one by
Mackenzie Kurczek). When Zezza hit her scoop layup at the end of the half, St. Kate's went up 38-22.
The Wildcats won both of the last two quarters as well. They made the Saints work on every trip up the floor and their own offense came at a fast pace. A
Bree Glynn layup with 7:15 left in the third gave them a 21-point lead. When
Kaylee Miron hit a pair of free throws with a minute left in the period, the lead swelled to 25. Both teams continued to hustle to start the fourth; baskets were hard to come by, and the Wildcats didn't score again until there was 5:40 on the clock. At that time a Glynn layup put them up by 24. A layup by Maddie Rozien with 1:18 left would create St. Kate's biggest lead—31 points.

th, at 7pm.
