FON DU LAC, Wis. -- The St. Catherine University hockey team recorded their third shutout of the season with a 6-0 victory over the Marian University Sabres in Fon du Lac, Wisconsin on Tuesday afternoon. The Wildcats are now 9-3-1 on the season as they embark on the remainder of the MIAC season kicking off again Friday.
"We caught Marian at a good time" said head coach
Brad Marshall. "They're coming off a long weekend in the Bethel tournament, while we had the weekend off. But, we played a very good 40 minutes of college hockey after we knocked the rust off in the 1st period. Our defenders got involved, our power play was good and we had plenty of scoring from all four lines. We made some very good choices with and without the puck."
Junior center
Madi Fleming kicked off scoring for the Wildcats with a power play goal mid-way through the first period. Fleming's fourth goal of the season was assisted by juniors
Lauren Henriksen and
Emmie Verhaagh.
Rookie
Paige Loidolt tallied the team's second goal scoring with 14 minutes on the clock in the second with help from junior
Samantha Lackmann and senior

The team's final four goals were all scored in the fourth period as first-year

Abby Pirkl and
Ellie Skaja to give St. Kate's a 3-0 lead. Loidolt's second goal of the non-conference series came seven minutes later from Reimer just before sophomore

Gabby Bodin from senior
Lindsey Hays.
The team's final goal of the game was scored by senior
Brittany Weber with less than a minute to play assisted by junior
Maiah Robert and Bodin.
