Hockey season ends to Concordia in first-round of MIAC playoffs

MOORHEAD, Minn. -- The St. Catherine University hockey team ended the 2021-22 season with a one-goal loss at Concordia Moorhead in the first-round of the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Playoffs. St. Kate's season concludes with a record of 8-16-1 and conference record of 4-12. 

The Cobbers scored late in the third period for the one-goal victory. The Wildcats had 21 shots in the game led by sophomore Abby Pirkl firing off four. 

St. Kate's goalie Elizabeth Kubicek made 36 saves in the between the pipes making 17 saves in the second period alone. She ranks seventh overall to end the season making 358 saves in 13 games.
