NORTHFIELD, Minn. -- The St. Catherine hockey team traveled to St. Olaf College on Friday for game one of the MIAC series, falling 3-2 after a last minute goal from the Oles.
St. Olaf was on the board first scoring 7 minutes into the opening period. Rookie
Joslin Mumm tied the game with just over a minute left in the period scoring an unassisted goal for St. Kate's.
The Oles took the lead again one minute into the second holding onto a 2-1 advantage until sophomore
Abby Pirkl put one past the goalie with help from
Sophia Gorski and
Lauren Henriksen.
The game remained tied throughout the third period when the Oles scored with just 33 seconds left in the period to claim the win.
St. Kate's closes out the regular-season on Saturday hosting the Oles at 2 pm on Senior Day at Drake Arena.
