NORTHFIELD, Minn. -- The St. Catherine University volleyball team concluded their historic season falling to the No. 2 seed St. Olaf College Oles on Thursday evening in the semifinal round of the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Playoff Tournament. The Oles defeated the Wildcats by a 3-0 decision with St. Kate's season ending with an 18-8 record overall and the best MIAC record in program history of 8-3.

Maggie Rosen led St. Kate's with eight kills and one block. Rookie
Tiff Tellez tallied seven kills and a team best nine digs. Senior
Lauren Skar also contributed seven kills and two blocks and rookie
Madison Fagan added five blocks and two kills.
Senior
Marissa Gilbertson added 16 assists on the night wrapping up her career in the purple and gold as the No. 3 All-Time assists leader with 1,646 in her four years.
The Oles took an early lead going up 6-1 before St. Kate's rallied back getting within two at 7-9. The Oles pulled away in the end taking the set 25-18.
St. Kate's gained the first lead in set two up 4-1 right away. St. Olaf inched back though taking the lead at 5-4 and holding onto it through the set taking it 25-19.
In the third set, the score tied five times in total with three different lead changes. St. Kate's got within one at 21-20 but were unable to score again as the Oles went on a five point run to claim the match.
