DECORAH, Iowa -- The St. Catherine University swimming and diving team picked up three wins on day one of the Luther College Invitational at the David E.G. and Patricia Miller Natatorium on Friday. The team recorded 12 lifetime bests overall led by sophomore Emma Svendsen. 

In the first event of the finals session, the team of Jordyn Wentzel, Emma Svendsen, Annie Voss, and Anneke van Oosterom finished first in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:41.25 to claim the Wildcats' first victory of the invite. 

Svendsen led the Wildcats in the 200-yard individual medley coming in as the runner-up with a time of 2:11.97 and J. Dombroski was fourth in the event with a lifetime best finish of 2:16.87. Sammi Friedrich rounded out the top ten with a season-best 2:24.08. 

Voss claimed her first individual win of the meet touching the wall first in the 500-yard freestyle with a lifetime best finish of 5:13.26. Olivia Weil was sixth in the event finished in 5:30.57. 

Wentzel was second in the 100-yard backstroke at 59.79 and Dombroski was second in the 200-yard breaststroke at 2:33.66. In the same event, Sierra Hermansen appeared in the A final finishing with an 8th best time of 2:43.86. Svendsen appeared in the 100-yard freestyle with a runner-up finish of 54.62 and a lifetime best time. 

Wentzel and Voss finished first and second in the 200-yard butterfly with Wentzel finishing first with a time of  of 2:07.63 and Voss clocking in with a lifetime best time of 2:12.47. Friedrich was seventh in the event registering a time of 2:25.04. 

In the final event of the evening session, the Wildcats were second in the 400-yard medley relay with the team of Voss, Wentzel, Svendsen, and van Oosterom finishing at 3:58.36. 

Prelims are set to start at 10 am on Saturday followed by the finals session in the evening starting at 5 pm.
