MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. -- The St. Catherine University volleyball team downed the No. 20 ranked Augsburg University Auggies on Saturday evening by a 3-2 decision. The win is the program's defeat win over a ranked team under head coach

Rookie Tiffany Tellez had a match-best 17 kills in the five-set match hitting .324. Her career-high kills along with her 12 digs recorded her third double-double of the season stamping her performance with two aces.
Lexie Petrick also had a double-double, her second in a row, with 12 kills and 14 digs.
Claire Segner added 15 digs, six assists and one ace to the box score and
Madison Fagan was responsible for six blocks and eight kills securing the winning point in the fifth set. Senior setter,
Marissa Gilbertson added 26 assists on the night, as she ranks fourth in program history just 33 assists away from third all-time.
Augsburg took the first set from St. Kate's 25-16 going on two runs late in the rally. The second set was just like the first with the Auggies getting a late push to take a six-point lead at 17-11 but the Wildcats battled back getting within two but Augsburg ultimately took the set 25-20.
The next three sets belonged to the purple and gold recording two back-to-back 25-20 set wins to force the fifth and final set. In the fifth set, the Wildcats held the advantage with the Auggies tying it up five different times. Junior
Maggie Rosen and Fagan were credited the final two points for St. Kate's to secure the 15-13 set win for the match victory.
The Wildcats are now in a four-way tie for second place in the MIAC with two regular season matches left. St. Kate's will host the College of Saint Benedict on Wednesday, October 26 for Senior Day at 7 pm. The Bennies are one of the three other teams the Wildcats share a 6-3 conference record with including St. Olaf and Bethel, who they defeated last week.
