ST. PAUL, Minn. -- St. Catherine basketball dropped a heartbreaker to the Macalester College Scots Friday evening on the road. The Wildcats fell to the Scots 62-58 in their first meeting of the two-game series this season.
St. Catherine carried the lead through the first half of the game up 33-29 before the Scots inched their way back in the third. The conference foes traded the lead throughout the final 20 minutes of play with the Wildcats finding themselves down with only five minutes to play.

Mackenzie Dettman had a career game, tallying an impressive 13 points nearing shooting 100 percent. Dettman went 5 for 5 on the night with one-three pointer and sinking two of her three charity baskets. Sophomore forwards
Sarah Lavell and
Bree Glynn led St. Kate's through the 40-minutes. Lavell was key in the final quarter making two clutch free throws to knot the game up with less than a minute remaining. Lavell added a team-best 14 points in the game while Glynn added 12. Glynn grabbed a career-best 11 rebounds and shot 100 percent from the line. Senior center
Kassidy Jenkins was the final player in double digits on the night adding ten for St. Kate's with five rebounds.
St. Kate's is back in action on Sunday, March 21 at 2 pm as they host Macalester. As a reminder, no spectators will be permitted to the contest. The game will be broadcast via the St. Kate's athletics
