INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- The No. 25 St. Catherine soccer team was selected to host the opening stages of the NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Championship on Saturday and Sunday announced Monday afternoon.
The MIAC Regular Season and Playoff Champion Wildcats were awarded the conference's automatic qualification for 2021 championship after their 1-0 victory of St. Ben's last Saturday. St. Catherine will play on Saturday, November 13 against the University of Wisconsin-Superior Yellowjackets, who were the champions of Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) at 11 am. The second game of the day will include two team's who earned pool c berths Wartburg College and the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse at 1:30 pm.
The Wildcats look to extend their historic season after posting a 14-1-3 season so far with head coach
Jesse Campos becoming the Program's All-Time Winningest Coach. To go along with Campos' accomplishments, junior
Amanda Elton became the program's single-season goals leader and the single-season game-winners leader while sophomore goalkeeper
Kate Praetz holds the program's most shutouts in a single-season and allowed the program's fewest goals (10) in a single-season.
UW-Superior defeated Northwestern University-St. Paul with a score of 3-2 on Saturday to clinch the program's first conference championship and trip to the NCAA Tournament.
Wartburg fell in the American Rivers Conference Tournament to Loras College 4-1 and UW-La Crosse were upset in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) championship to the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh 2-1.
