ROCHESTER, Minn. - St. Catherine University fell to the University of Wisconsin-Platteville and topped Dominican University (Ill.) in a pair of non-conference games at the Rochester Dome on Sunday. The Wildcats move to 3-1 overall after their first weekend of the 2020 season.
Game One: UW-Platteville 1, St. Catherine 0
The Wildcats and Pioneers had an uneventful six and a half-inning with zero runs and just seven hits between the two teams.
Alex Ehde was 1 for 3 in the game while
Alyssa Wicks was 1 for 2 with one walk. UW-Platteville scored the lone run of the game in the bottom of the seventh inning for the win.
Alyssa Montero was in the circle for St. Kate's in the first game collecting the loss. Al. Montero allowed one run off of five hits walking two batters. She also recorded two strikeouts leading seven on base.
Game Two: St. Catherine 4, Dominican 0
Hannah Fry had an impressive stat line going two for three with two runs and one RBI. She was able to get the purple and gold on the board first with a hit out to center field getting her first-collegiate double. Her run was the result of
Amber Montero's hit to right field to drive the rookie in. Am. Montero recorded St. Kate's second run in the bottom of the order as rookie
Taylor Brunn drove her in.
Fry and Brunn were responsible for the final two runs of the game in the bottom of the fourth inning as a result of an error from Dominican. Fry opened at the plate in the bottom of the fourth with a hit to left field while Brunn reached first base on a walk and advancing off a stolen base before reaching home on the error.
Kathryn Proper recorded six strikeouts in the circle earning the win allowing two hits in the game plus walking one. Proper is now 2-0 this season with 13 strikeouts and zero runs allowed.

The Wildcats will return to the Rochester Dome next weekend for two-games Saturday and Sunday. Game one on Saturday will be played against Knox College at noon followed by the University of Wisconsin-River Falls at 2 pm. Sunday includes the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire at 8 am and Lawrence University at 10 am.
