RIVER FALLS, Wis. - Junior
Erin Cutts led St. Catherine in the five-set battle Saturday afternoon with the University of Wisconsin-Superior. After taking the first two sets from the Yellowjackets, St. Catherine was defeated after giving up the final three.
In the first set, the Wildcats and Yellowjackets rallied well past the 25-point mark as St. Kate's won 31-29. The second set ended in favor of the Wildcats as well with a final score of 25-23. The final three sets went to UW-Superior with set scores of 25-22, 25-18, and 15-11, respectively.
Cutts tallied 14 kills in the five-set match including 5 blocks and 2 aces. Senior
Emma Nelson continues her hot streak collecting 12 kills and a team-best 15 digs. Junior
Erin Tebben had a day with a season-best 13 kills against the Yellowjackets as well as an impressive 3 solo blocks in the match.
Sophomore
Lauren Isaacson shined both offensively and defensively posting 9 kills and 10 digs as first-year
Lauren Skar made in impression with 6 kills and appearing in all five sets.
St. Catherine is home Tuesday, September 17 with a non-conference match against the University of Northwestern-St. Paul at 7 pm.
