ST. PAUL, Minn. - The St. Catherine University Wildcat hockey team honored six graduating seniors before facing Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) opponent the Bethel University Royals. The Wildcats topped the Royals at Drake Arena Saturday evening 2-1 with goals from seniors
Tori Thompson and
Brede Postier finishing the season 6-14-5 overall and 3-10-5 in the MIAC.
The six graduating seniors include
MacKenzie Ess,
Allie Guzy,
Laken Muller,
Morgan Tentis, Postier, and Thompson.
Thompson's goal was at 7:24 in the 2nd period assisted by sophomore
Emilee Anderson. Her goal tonight was her fourth this season and twelfth of her career. The captain and two-time MIAC All-Conference honoree contributed thirty-one assists in her career as a Wildcat ranking her No. 10 in program history.
After the Royals scored a goal at 3:05 in the third period, Postier netted her final collegiate goal for the game-winner at 04:18 while on the power play assisted by Tentis and Muller. After transferring from Hamline following her sophomore season for the Pipers, Postier led the Wildcats this season with eleven goals and seven assists. Playing 50 games for the Wildcats, Postier scored an overall total of sixteen goals and twelve assists.
The Wildcats co-captain,
MacKenzie Ess had a career eight goals with three this season. She also had season-best eight assists in her senior campaign for a career total of seventeen.
Guzy had one goal this season for a career total of seven goals and seven assists. Tentis scored two goals this season and six assists for thirteen overall and nineteen assists as a Wildcat.
La. Muller was the No. 2 goal scorer on the 2018-19 team with nine this season and six assists. The forward scored an impressive thirty-five goals as a Wildcat and twenty-five assists.

Brad Marshall said following tonight's conference win over Bethel, " I am very proud of this team. The last month, we've competed very hard. Tonight was for our seniors who once again led the way."
In the month of February, St. Catherine went 1-2-3 tying with top teams in the conference Gustavus 2-2 and Augsburg 4-4.
