ST. PAUL, Minn. - Senior
Emma Nelson had her ninth kills-digs double-double in the Wildcats four-set loss to St. Olaf College on Saturday afternoon. The Oles took the first two sets from St. Catherine 25-19 and 27-25 before the Wildcats claimed the third set 29-27. In the final set of the match, the Oles defeated St. Kate's 25-16 for a final match score of 3-1 St. Olaf.
Nelson tallied 11 kills in the four-set match improving her team-best season total of 179. Nelson also recorded a team-best 30 digs in the match ranking her second on the team with 281 this season. The six-rotation player added two aces against the Oles as well.
Leading in kills in the four-set match was junior middle
Erin Cutts tallying 12. Cutts who was hitting .379 in the match, recorded one ace and three blocks in the match, both of which statistical categories she leads the team in this season.
Sophomore
Lauren Isaacson had a day recording her third kills-digs double-double with a season-best 21 digs, 10 kills and three blocks against the Oles. Just behind Isaacson was sophomore
Bryana Leverentz with 9 kills and three blocks.
The Wildcats travel to Carleton College on Wednesday, October 9 for a 7 PM Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) match up. The team returns to
Butler Center on Saturday, October 12 hosting the University of St. Thomas for the annual alumnae match at 3 PM.
