ST. JOSEPH, Minn. - For the third consecutive meeting, St. Catherine University soccer has defeated the College of Saint Benedict in an important Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) game. Today the Wildcats (11-5, 7-2) took down the Bennies 5-1 on the road to remain in the No. 2 spot in the conference standings.
The Bennies took an early lead over St. Kate's scoring what would go on to be their only goal just three minutes in the game. They held the lead for much of the game holding St. Catherine to just one shot in the first 45 minutes.
First-year Mandy Elton scored St. Catherine's first goal to in the 63rd minute assisted by rookie
Nora McLoone knotting the score at 1-1.
Eight minutes later, McLoone scored the game-winner and her second goal of the season assisted by sophomore
Emma Watt for her third assist this season.
The Wildcats' continued the scoring surge with Elton scoring her seventh goal of the season in the 76th minute assisted by senior
Allie Bird.

Rachael Holm netted St. Catherine's final two goals within 16 seconds of each other in the 82nd minute. Holm's first goal was assisted by senior
Maddie Conners and Bird assisted the final goal.
Senior goalkeeper Tayer Koop earned her tenth win this season allowing one goal on seven shots.
St. Catherine is on the road again on Wednesday facing the University of St. Thomas (11-2-2, 6-1-1 MIAC) at 3:30 pm.
