Basketball drops road game to Bennies

ST. JOSEPH, Minn. ­– St. Catherine University basketball fell to conference foe College of Saint Benedict 64-49 on Wednesday in Claire Lynch Hall.  Entering the game both teams were tied 4-4 in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC). The Wildcats are 7-9 overall and 4-5 in the MIAC with nine conference games remaining in the regular season.

First-year forward Sam Orth tallied 12 points against the Bennies plus 8 rebounds and 1 steal. In her debut season, Orth is averaging 11.4 points per game, 6.5 boards per game starting all 16 contests for the Wildcats. Orth is leading the team currently in FG PCT at 50%, good for No. 5 in the MIAC.

Senior guard Audra Clark continues to increase the program career assists record with 3 more to her total of 58 this season. Clark added 8 points for St. Kate's including her 3 steals and 3 rebounds.  

St. Catherine is at Macalester College (3-13, 1-8 MIAC) on Saturday, January 19 for a 1 p.m. conference match-up.
