ST. PAUL, Minn. - It has been two weeks since the St. Catherine University soccer team has played a game on campus. On Wednesday, September 26, the Wildcats are home again for this first time since September 11 against Augsburg, which also happened to be their last win. St. Kate's takes on conference opponent Carleton College for a 4 p.m. game at St. Kate's Field looking to snap their three game loosing streak.
The Carleton College Knights are currently 5-1-2 and 2-0-1 in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC). In their last game, the Knights overpowered Macalester 4-0, who the Wildcats tied earlier this month 1-1 in double overtime. St. Kate's is 3-2-1 and 1-1-1 in the MIAC, dropping their last game to conference opponent Bethel University 4-0.
The last time these two teams met was in Northfield, Minnesota that ended in a 3-3 tie. Scoring in that game was junior
Gabi Fettig (Farmington, Minn.), senior
Brittany Kollman (Fergus Falls, Minn. / Kennedy Secondary) and senior
Molly Hayes (South St. Paul, Minn.). Fettig also had an assist on Kollman's goal.
Headed into Wednesday's game,
Lauren Witte (Lakeville, Minn. / Lakeville North) ranks 4th in the conference for goals with 5 and
Allie Bird (Maple Grove, Minn.) is sitting in 3rd for assists. Tomorrow's 4 p.m. conference game will provide live statics on the St. Kate's stretch internet page here:
