ST. PAUL, Minn. – St. Catherine University Wildcat soccer has their first draw of the season they advance to 3-0-1 overall and 1-0-1 in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC). St. Kate's tied 1-1 with the Scott from Macalester College in a Saturday evening game on the road.
In their second conference match-up of the season the Wildcats came out strong early with a goal from junior forward
Allie Bird (Maple Grove, Minn.) assisted by senior forward
Molly Hayes. Bird's second goal of the season came at the 19:53 minute mark of the first half.
Junior goalkeeper
Tayler Koop (Blaine, Minn.) faced her most challenging game of the season this far in Macalester. The Scots offensive had 4 shots on goal in the first half of the game and allowing her first goal of the season when Kate Bond found the back of the net with 10 minutes left in the half. In the second half, Koop faced another 4 shots on goal.
Macalester's goalkeeper Kate Lawhead was a big part in the games end result as she faced 20 shots from the Wildcats in the game. The second half the Wildcats were able to fire off 11 shots but ended up scoreless since Birds' goal headed to the end of regulation time.
At the end of regulation, the Wildcats and Scots from Macalester were tied 1-1. Both teams battled through the first overtime holding each other to zero shots to head into the second overtime. St. Kate's fought through the second overtime with multiple chances but their efforts weren't enough.

St. Kate's is on the road again Wednesday, Sept. 19 as they head to Cedar Rapids, Iowa for a nonconference game against Coe College. The Wildcats return to conference play Saturday, Sept. 22 as they head to Bethel University for a 1 p.m. They return home again Wednesday, September 29 for a 4 p.m. conference game against nationally ranked Carleton College.
