ST. PAUL, Minn. - After a week off of competition, the 4-2-2, 2-1-2 MIAC, St. Catherine University Wildcat soccer team returns home for a 1 p.m. conference match against the Concordia College - Moorhead Cobbers (4-4-3, 1-2-2 MIAC) for Wash Out Cancer Day in support of the American Cancer Society, Hope Lodge. 

Over the past three seasons, the Wildcats have topped the Cobbers in each meeting while out scoring them 5-0. In the game played in Moorhead last season, now junior Alyssa Siljendahl (Duluth, Minn. / Hermantown) had the game winning goal and the first of her sophomore season putting it in in the 72nd minute with an assist from forward Allie Bird (Maple Grove, Minn.). Goalkeeper Tayler Koop (Blaine, Minn.) faced just one shot in her 45 minutes of play against the Cobbers last season splitting time with Jessica Perez-Adame (San Jacinto, Calif. / San Jacinto) who also only faced one shot. 

This season the Wildcats and Cobbers have both faced common opponents Macalester and Carleton with both teams finishing tied with the Scots and Knights. The Wildcats currently sit in fifth place in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) compared to the Cobbers in seventh.

Leading the Wildcats statically in offensive categories, sophomore forward Lauren Witte (Lakeville, Minn. / Lakeville North) has had a fantastic debut season ranking No. 4 in the conference for goals with 7 so far. Additionally, Witte is No. 4 in the MIAC for shot on goal putting up 23 this season. Witte looks to repeat her two goal performance from last Saturday getting the first goal for the Wildcats and also the game winning goal 59 seconds into the second overtime.

The St. Catherine University Wildcat athletic department will be hosting three Wash Out Cancer events on campus Saturday starting with Cross Country at 11:00 a.m. followed by a 1 p.m. soccer game and closing out the day with volleyball at 3 p.m. Each team will be collecting donations to bring to the American Cancer Society-Hope Lodge.
