Basketball aims to end season with fifth win in a row against St. Olaf

ST. PAUL, MINN. – The St. Catherine University basketball team has now won four straight games, three of them against Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) opponents. Today, the Wildcats look to make it five in a row in their season ending game against St. Olaf.

The game in Northfied will be the final game of the 2015-16 game for St. Kate's. Fans who can't make the trip can watch and follow stats online on the St. Olaf website.

With just a few hours until tipoff, make sure to reach these five facts to get ready for the game:

8 – Number of combined steals junior LaShay Holt (Minneapolis, Minn. / Humboldt) and Kennedy Jennings (Grimes, Iowa / Dallas Center-Grimes) had in the Wildcats 78-64 win over Concordia-Moorhead on Wednesday. Jennings had a team high three steals in the first half, one of which occurred during the Cobbers first offensive possession. Senior Shauna Horsch (Inver Grove Heights, Minn. / Simley) and sophomore Audra Clark (Kenyon, Minn. / Kenyon Wanamingo) added two more steals to put the team total to 10 in the game.

20 – Number of turnovers St. Kate's forced Wednesday night. In their past four games, the Wildcats have forced 78 turnovers by their opponents while only committing 71 themselves
.
54.5 – St. Kate's shooting percentage from Wednesday night. The Wildcats were hot offensively as they went 30-55 from the floor, 7-16 from behind the arc, and 11-14 from the free throw line. This huge offensive performance came just four days after St. Kate's went off in the final quarter in their 81-57 win over Macalester.

33 – Number of points guard LaShay Holt (Minneapolis, Minn. / Humboldt) scored the last time St. Kate's played St. Olaf. The junior had one of the biggest individual performances in St. Kate's history back in January when she set both personal and school records. Holt was 5-5 from behind the arc in the first half and 8-13 overall, setting the school record for most three-pointers made in a single game. Despite Holt's performance, the Oles won the game 79-69.

.500 – It has been eight years since the Wildcats ended the season with a record over .500. This year, it's guaranteed to happen. With their win on Wednesday, the worst record St. Kate's could finish the season with is 13-12, which would be the best record for the program since 2008-09. They've already matched and eclipses their win total from last season, and have the best record in head coach Sean Pinkerton's tenure with the program.
