ST. PAUL, MINN. – The St. Catherine University basketball team has been on a roll as of late. The team has won three of its last four games, including Monday's huge 82-58 nonconfernce win over Crown College. The Wildcats also took home their first Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) win of the season on Saturday with a 69-51 victory over St. Olaf College.
Tonight, St. Kate's will return to MIAC in Morehead, Minnesota with a 7 p.m. tipoff against the Concordia College Cobbers.
Live stats and
video will both be available for the game and score updates will be made on St. Kate's official Twitter account (@stkateswildcats).
Here are the five facts to know before tipoff between St. Kate's and Concordia:
4 – The last time these two teams met, the Wildcats pulled off a phenomenal 78-64 upset win over the Cobbers to win their fourth consecutive game. St. Kate's and Concordia entered the game as two of the hottest teams in the MIAC, but a strong defensive effort from the Wildcats cooled the previous hot-handed Cobbers in the 78-64 victory.
Audra Clark (Kenyon, Minn. / Kenyon-Wanamingo) was the team's leading scorer with 21 points and three assists.
4 – Since returning to the team last week,
LaShay Holt (Minneapolis, Minn. / Humboldt) has either led or been tied for the lead on the team in rebounds. She recorded a season high 10 rebounds in the Wildcats win over St. Olaf on Saturday and recorded eight against Crown on Monday.
2-1 – St. Kate's currently holds a 2-1 record in road games this season. However, the Wildcats have yet to win a conference game on the road as they lost their MIAC opener at the College of Saint Benedict 60-53.
69.7 - Through the first six games of the season, St. Kate's is averaging 69.7 points per game this season and is holding opponents to a 61.1 scoring average. On average, the Wildcats victory of margin is eight points and they are outshooting opponents from both the floor and three-point line.
160 – The Wildcats stingy defense has forced opponents to commit 160 turnovers already this season. That mark puts St. Kate's on pace to break last year's impressive performance record, where the team forced 494 turnovers and had 246 steals.
