The St. Catherine University basketball team hoped it could end senior Kristen Lee's (Dawson, Minn.) career on a high note with a win and try to spoil Gustavus Adolphus College's chances for the final Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) playoff spot. Despite a 25-point peformance from LaShay Holt (Minneapolis, Minn.), the Wildcats couldn't come up with the upset in falling 82-52 to the Gusties Saturday afternoon at the Butler Center

The Wildcats opened up the first half exhanging baskets with the Gusties and were down 32-25 at halftime after a close buzzer beater from Julia Dysthe of the Gusties. But the Wildcats couldn't find a way to get back into the game in the second half as the Gusties scored 50 points in the final 20 to clinch their bid to the MIAC postseason.

Holt's game-high 25 points came on an impressive shooting day where the first-year was 11-of-19. She also collected a team best seven rebounds and three assists. This was Holt's 17th double-digit scoring performance of the season.

Lee was solid in her final game as a Wildcat with 11 points and three-made 3-pointers. In her final season, Lee had eight double-digit scoring performances and made 39 buckets from beyond the arc. Lee concludes her career No. 14 all-time at St. Kate's in career points (706) and No. 2 all-time in 3-point field goals (128). In her four years as a Wildcat, Lee played in 99 games and started 91. She also collected 303 career rebounds and 140 assists. In the 2013-14 season, Lee drained 40 baskets from beyond the arc which ranks No. 6 all-time in a single season at St. Kate's.

Jenna Mistler (Austin, Texas) came off the bench to score five points and collected a game-high five steals in the first half. She also had three rebounds and was a perfect 3-of-3 from the charity stripe.

With the loss the Wildcats conclude their season 4-21 overall and 3-19 in the MIAC. This is the Wildcats best mark since the 2010-11 season when the team finished 6-19 overall and 5-17 in the MIAC.
