The St. Catherine University tennis team put up a strong fight at the USTA/ITA Midwest Regional, but ended its run on the second day of competition, Satruday in St. Peter, Minn.

The duo of Angie Lorenzen (Mitchell, S.D.) and Kylie Ketcho (Edina, Minn.) picked up the lone Wildcat win on a tough second day of competition, before being eliminated in their final match of the day by St. Thomas' Shleby Henderson and Tara Lefsrud.

The two took down Andrea Vivian and Bryanne Blanton of UW-La Crosse by a score of 8-3. The pair went 3-1 on the weekend against some of the toughest teams in the Midwest.

Michaela Burroughs, who pulled off two big wins in singles on Friday, fell in her lone match of the day to Jackie Vitale of UW-Whitewater. Vitale had previously upset the No. 6 seed on the first day of competition.

The Wildcats will compete in their final fall tournament, the St. Olaf Invitational, on Saturday, Oct. 6.
