The Wildcats traveled to Augsburg Sunday afternoon for their final conference games of the season.
In the opening game St. Kate's kept it close until the bottom of the fifth when Augsburg took advantage of a pair of doubles to plate four runs and take a commanding 6-1 lead. Then followed it up with three more runs in the sixth. The Wildcats would score three in the top of the sixth, but couldn't muster up any more offense in the seventh to close the gap, losing 4-8.
The second game showed the Auggies consistently coming through offensively, scoring at least a pair of runs in the first four innings and putting the game out of reach quickly. Losing 8-1 in five innings.
The Wildcats were off defensively, committing eight errors in the two games. They'll attempt to turn things around in their final two competitions of the season coming up this week against Martin Luther College Monday afternoon and later in the week vs. Northwestern College.
