Wildcats drop two to Bethel Wednesday

After a scoreless first inning and tied at 1-1 going into the bottom of the third, things seemed to be going well. Soon after, however, Bethel would take control and blow the first game wide open. Scoring two in the third, five in the fourth and one more in the fifth, while holding St. Kate's scoreless for the lopsided 9-1 win.

The second game would play out much differently, with the lead changing hands a few times, and scoring frequently from both sides. The Wildcats would score two in the first, two in the second and one in the third to take a 5-4 lead after three.

The Royals would plate five in the fourth inning and another in the fifth to stretch the lead to 10-6.  St. Kate's big inning came in the sixth when they roared back to take a 11-10 lead, scoring five. Ashley Matthys would knock in two RBIs in the sixth on a single to center field, scoring Desiree O'Connell and Kaitlyn Frank

Bethel would rally in the sixth, to score two and bring the score to 12-11, which is how it would end. With the win, the Royals record goes to 9-17 (3-7 MIAC), while the Wildcats drop to 10-14 (3-7 MIAC).
