Softball drops two games at St. Bens (0-1, 4-10)

Despite out hitting the Blazers 7-3 in the first game, the Wildcats struggled to get anyone across the plate. As a result, the Blazers escape with a 1-0 win to start off the double-header Wednesday afternoon in St. Joseph, MN.

St. Bens scored it's only run on a home run in the bottom of the seventh inning for the dramatic, walk-off win.

The second game, in stark contrast to the first, had runs being scored from the first inning (3) throughout the game.  The Wildcats got on the board early when Alyssa Luedtke scored from second on a single by Kaitlyn Frank

The Blazers would answer with two runs of their own in the bottom half of the inning and two more in the third to take a 4-1 lead.

St. Kate's would battle back in the fourth inning. Raven Baker knocked in two of the three on a two-run single. Going into the bottom of the inning, it was all tied up 4-4.

Unfortunately for the Wildcats, the Blazers would score two of their own in the fourth and add four more in the sixth bringing the final score to 10-4 St. Bens.

The Wildcats are back in action Thursday afternoon when they play host to Bethany Lutheran College. First pitch is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
