In a very evenly matched game, St. Kate's just couldn't find the net when they needed to and lost a nail-biter Friday evening at St. Olaf. Both teams had 20 shots on goal in the game. Coach Marshall after the game, "That was just a good college hockey game. Tight defense, solid offense on both sides and good goalies at both ends. We had chances on a regular basis, but just couldn't find that goal we needed." Clearly proud of his teams effort and attitude, he went on to say, "This is a special group, we have good leadership in the five seniors who played really well again tonight."
Kelsey Abrahamson scored the Wildcats lone goal of the night in the second period, unassisted on the power play after St. Olaf picked up a two minute minor for slashing. With the loss, St. Kate's drops to 11-10-2, while St. Olaf improves to 9-11-4.
The two teams face off again tomorrow afternoon in Drake Arena at St. Paul Academy at 2:00 p.m.
