St. Kate's left last night's loss in the past and after allowing the Tommies to score first, late in the opening period, anwered with a goal of their own en rout to the 3-1 victory.
Kasey Evans got the Wildcats on the board with 1:04 remaining in the period to tie the score at 1-1. The second period would end with neither team finding the net and exchanging a pair of two minute penalties apiece.
The game winning goal would be scored at 4:31 in the third period when
Megan Killmer scored, on assist from
Rachael Gasperetti and
Kelsey Abrahamson. Gasperetti would add one of her own less than three mintues later, with Abrahamson picking up her second assist of the afternoon.
Samantha Geissler had a stellar outting, stopping 36 of the 37 shots on goal. St. Thomas outshot the Wildcats 37-19.
St. Kate's is back on the ice Friday night at Hamline.
