The Wildcat Invitational concluded on Sunday afternoon, with St. Kate's taking on the Eagles of UW La Crosse. The offensive power of La Crosse proved to be too much for the Wildcats today, as they fell by a score of 3-0. La Crosse improved to 3-0 with the win, while the Wildcats dropped to 0-3.
A day after they scored four goals in a 4-2 victory over Clarke, La Crosse again showed their offensive prowess, scoring three goals while tallying 31 shots. St. Kate's keeper
Abbey Hinton was busy all afternoon, making seven saves during the La Crosse onslaught.
The Wildcats held the momentum for the first few minutes of the game, coming out and taking the ball straight to the Eagles end, but they were unable to put together a solid attack. La Crosse soon regrouped and the teams played back and forth until Jamie Ochsenwald scored for the Eagles in the thirty-fourth minute. The Eagles added two more goals midway through the second half.
The Wildcats play at home on Wednesday, September 7th at 4 pm against Northwestern College.
