St. Kate's took on undefeated St. Olaf on Saturday and was unable to be the first team to hand the Oles a loss this season. St. Olaf grabbed a 3-0 halftime lead on the way to an eventual 4-0 win that moved them to 7-0-1 (3-0-0 MIAC). St. Kate's fell to 1-8, (0-3 MIAC).
The Wildcats came out flat for the 11 AM start time, and the Oles immediately capitalized, scoring two quick goals to keep the WIldcats playing from behind the entire game. Coach Citowicki thought that "the team came out without any energy, and in this conference, teams will make you pay for any lapses. We regrouped and played well in the second half; once we put together a full 90 minutes we'll be a different team." After giving up three first-half goals, the Wildcats held the Oles to one goal in the second half off a corner kick.
The Wildcats next play at Bethel on Wednesday, September 28th at 4 pm.
