Tuesday afternoon the St. Kate's softball team traveled to Moorhead, MN to play the Cobbers. Concordia was the first to score, plating two runs in the bottom of the second. The Wildcats would answer with two runs of their own in the top of the fourth inning to tie the game and add another in the fifth to take a 3-2 lead.
Unfortunately, that lead was short-lived as the Cobbers drove in two in the fifth and four more in the sixth to put the game out of reach. Final score, 8-3 Concordia.
The second game would be a much closer one and started off great for SCU as they put up four runs, all with two outs, in the top of the first inning. Three of those runs would come when
Jenna Brady stepped to the plate with the bases loaded with Wildcats and quickly cleared them with a 3 RBI triple. Brady would later score on a single to center field by
Raven Baker.
Concordia would plate two runs in each of the first two innings and another in the third, which tied the game at 5 apiece after St. Kate's added one in the top of the second. The Cobbers would put up two more in the fourth inning bringing the score to 7-5 Concordia. SCU would add one run and leave the tying run on base in the sixth inning. With the 7-6 loss the Wildcats finish their conference season and look to end on a high note when they face Northwestern College Wednesday afternoon.
