Pipers too much for softball team Monday

Hamline jumped out early and kept the pressure on offensively throughout both ends of the doubleheader on Monday evening.

The Wildcats were down 6-0 after two innings in the first game and continued to struggle at the plate at Hamline.  After a scoreless third inning, the Pipers added another three runs in the fourth inning. Then SCU came alive scoring 4 runs on 4 hits including a 2 run homerun by Cassie Rooney.  Unfortunately, that was the only scoring St. Kate's could muster in the first game, losing 11-4.

The second game started off well, with Hamline leading 4-3 after three innings. From then on the Pipers continued to tack on runs while St. Kate's remained idle at the plate. Final score, 7-3.

The Wildcats are back in action Tuesday afternoon when they travel to Concordia College in Moorhead, MN to take on the Cobbers.
