Softball finally played St. Olaf Thursday

Alyssa McKee
After a number of postponed games in the last two weeks, the Wildcat softball team resumed play Thursday afternoon at St. Olaf.

St. Kate's jumped out to a two run lead in the top of the first when Alyssa McKee knocked in both on a double. That lead, however, was quickly taken by St. Olaf in the bottom of the first as the Oles plated three.

The Wildcats would regain the lead in the top of the third.  Shae Elliott started the scoring on a RBI double, knocking in Jenna Brady.  Later in the inning, with two runners on, Sarah McLennan would reach on an error by the first baseman and two would score, making it 5-3 SCU going into the bottom of the third.

St. Olaf would take the lead for good in the bottom of the fifth, scoring 2 on a home run and adding another on a two out double.  Neither team would score again, making the final 6-5 St. Olaf.

The second game started off slowly with the scored knotted at one apiece after three and a half innings. Then Olaf found a groove offensively, outscoring St. Kate's 9-1 in the next three innings. Final score 10-2 Oles in six innings.
