Softball's Spring Break Continues; Team Drops Two Games

Jessica Kniefel
On their second day of competition in Arizona, the Wildcats softball team found themselves working out the early season kinks. Using different lineups and getting their first year athletes some experience, the team lost a pair of games to UW-Eau Claire and Pacific Universiety (Ore).

The team started off Sunday against a University of Wisconsin Eau Claire team that came out firing. The Bluegolds took an early 6-0 lead in the first inning and used great pitching to shut down St. Kate's 10-0 in five innings.

In afternoon play, SCU faced a talented Pacific University team, unfortunately had similar results from the morning. The Wildcats dropped game two 9-1.

Head Coach Madge Makowske stated the team is playing pretty well and looked forward to ironing out some kinks in the days to come.

Tomorrow (Monday), the Wildcats take on McPherson College (Kan.) at noon and finish the day with Lewis & Clark College at 2:00 p.m.
